Sony Xperia A Another Handset by Ben Ling is a 4.6 inch Full HD,Waterproof.

Ben Ling has created a new Sony Xperia concept phone simply dubbed the Xperia A, that you can check out below. We’re dealing with a 4.6 inch Full HD handset with a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The screen is shatter proof and at the back of this smartphone we find a 13 megapixel camera with HDR and LED flash. There’s also an Exmor RS sensor on board for camera use and this device is both dust and water resistant according to IP55 and IP57 standards. The camera does 16x digital zoom and Full HD video recording, while upfront we have a 2.2 megapixel camera also with HDR, like the cam on HTC One.

The design is slightly rounded and I can see that there’s a camera button on board, something rare for an Android phone. The facade of the Sony Xperia A seems to remind me of the times of the Xperia Play and Xperia Neo, so it may seem a bit dated. Powering up this Xperia 2013 phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, that we’ve yet to see on a Sony handset. By the way it runs Android 4.2.2 and provides 32 GB of storage, as well as microSD.

The battery is a 2600 mAh unit. Is there room for rounded phones with camera buttons and Android on the market?

Sony Xperia Nexus by Killu Chan, a New 5.5 Inch Phablet with 4 GB Of RAM

While 5 inch seems to be the max diagonal a supposed 2012 Nexus phone could have, Killu Chan goes past that with a new Sony Xperia concept. I’m talking about the Sony Xperia Nexus, pictured below in a new mockup and packing some hardcore specs, that include 128 GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.

The device comes with a LED backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and 5.5 inch diagonal with 408 ppi density. The screen supports multitouch for up to 10 fingers, relies on Sony Mobile Bravia Engine technology and benefits from Gorilla Glass 2 protection. On the connectivity side we’ve got LTE, HSDPA at 42 Mbps, WiFi, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, microHDMI and probably NFC as well. At the back of the Xperia Nexus there’s an 18 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Optics Vario Tessar, autofocus, Xenon flash and image stabilization.

Upfront we’ve got a 3.15MP camera and under the hood there’s a Li-Ion 3500 mAh battery. As far as software goes, we’ve got Android Key Lime Pie running the show, on top of an Nvidia Tegra 4 quad core 2.1 GHz processor. Wireless charging is supported on this revolutionary model, that also relies on a nano SIM card. This model greatly reminds me of a Cybershot camera of sorts and some older concepts from back in 2008 and 2009. This is probably the first phone with the battery, signal and hour moved to the bottom and the virtual buttons so small… Interesting idea!

Sony scraps sales of Xperia tablet

Sony has stopped selling its Xperia Tablet S after finding defects in the devices.

According to Reuters, sales were halted after gaps were discovered between the screen and case, making some of the tablets susceptible to water damage.

A Sony spokeswoman told Reuters that the hardware issues have been traced back to a "manufacturing flaw" at the Chinese plant where the tablet is made.

Sony Xperia tipo smartphone launched at Rs 9,999

 Sony Mobile India today officially launched its first sub-Rs 10,000 smartphone, Xperia tipo. The company also unveiled the dual-SIM version of Xperia tipo, Xperia tipo dual, at the event. 

Xperia tipo is powered by Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and will contend against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Ace and HTC Desire C. 

Sony Xperia tipo features a 3.2-inch touch screen and is powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 512MB RAM. The internal storage of the device is 2.5GB, though the memory can be increased up to 32GB via microSD. The Japanese manufacturer is offering 50GB of cloud storage via Box with the Xperia tipo.

Sony Xperia TL Features 4.8 Inch Display, 14 MP Camera

Ben Ling is back at it again, designing Sony Xperia handsets, this time with a model that could easily rival the Samsung Galaxy S III. After all it has the same diagonal size and a quad core CPU. Sony Xperia TL is pictured below and comes with a 4.8 inch Full HD TFT screen with shatter proof protection and also resilience against scratches.

At the back we find a 14 megapixel camera with LED flash and Exmor R sensor, plus 16 x digital zoom and full HD video recording at 1080p. Xperia TL has a front 2 megapixel camera with 1080p capture as well and inside there’s a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz processor, that should be more powerful than the Exynos quad on the Galaxy S III. There’s also an Adreno 225 GPU in here, NFC, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. This new Sony Xperia concept measures 7.8 mm, so it’s pretty thin, but not as thin as the Motorola Droid RAZR, at 7.1 mm.

It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and uses Sony technologies like xLOUD and Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2. Finally the specs list is rounded up by a Li-Ion 1910 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 and a microSD card slot. The handset weighs 125 grams and its design is rather strange, since it seems like a much smaller phone than the specs describe. It could end up being very wide…

Finalized Sony Xperia NX Now Codenamed Yuuko, Looks Like a Futuristic Metallic Camera

Remember the Sony Xperia NX, the device that combined the features of an Xperia smartphone and also the features of a Sony NEX camera? Well, the creator of the mockup, Razec from Esato is back with a finalized design of the device. We’re dealing with a cameraphone with a beautiful metallic case and what looks like a bright ring of light at the bottom below the Home virtual button.

There’s still a 24.5 megapixel camera at the back, a metallic ring around the camera and the handset has both a black and silver version. The camera looks so sci-fi it’s crazy and while we don’t have specs for this model, we’ve previously speculated on what it could include. Xperia NX/Yuuko may be able to do 1080p/60p/60i video, just like a NEX camera and the concept also mentions an APS-C sensor and interchangeable lens. It’s got Android in the Jelly Bean form probably and most likely the Sony customizations.

Sony Xperia X Mockup Inspired by the Design of the Xperia Tablet S

Remember the Xperia Tablet and the Sony Tablet S slates? Well, designer Abel Verdezoto decided to use their design and create a smartphone with the same look. The result is the Sony Xperia X concept, shown below. We’re dealing with a smartphone that features a 4.6 inch display and that folded magazine style design of the Xperia Tablet.

The handset is 5.5 mm thick at its base, the thinnest and 11.2 mm at its thickest, at the top. To me it looks a bit bulky and massive, especially wide and the bottom looks fragile and easy to crack. The folded magazine style edges were bad for the original tablet, since it was particularly hard to press the buttons on the side because of the small roof it had over them, so I don’t like the design of Sony’s tablet, to be honest. This phone is also pretty massive for today’s standards and not so impressive.

Sony Xperia Miro now available for pre-order in India, priced @ Rs. 14,499

After the Xperia Tipo, the Sony Xperia Miro is now available for pre-order in India via online retailer Flipkart. The device is priced at Rs. 14,499 and it is expected to ship in the third week of September.

The Sony Xperia Miro is a mid-ranged device which runs Android 4.0 ICS. In terms of the specifications the device sports a 3.5-inch display with a 320x480 pixels resolution. It is powered by an 800 MHz processor, has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and a front facing VGA quality camera.

It also includes FM radio with RDS and other connectivity features like 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n, DLNA and GPS/aGPS. It is equipped with a 1,500 mAh battery, 512MB of RAM and 2.9GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot.

Sony Xperia Tablet S now available for purchase.

Sony unveiled the Xperia Tablet S back in late-August during IFA and well, it looks like the tablet has since come available for purchase. Those interested will be able to make the purchase by way of the Sony Store where the tablet is available in a 16GB, 32GB and 64GB model. The tablets are priced at $399.99, $499.99 and $599.99 respectively. Also worth noting, those who make the purchase will “get 3 digital movies on Google Play” — a $45 value. Sony not worried by Android legal woes

Sony Mobile, which uses Google Android software for its smartphones, has not seen much impact from patent problems of the software platform.

Last week a US jury decided many of Samsung's Google Android-based phones infringed Apple Inc patents.

"We don't see much impact to our business as yet of today," Sony Mobile Chief Executive Kunimasa Suzuki told Reuters.

Suzuki said he was confident to sell more smartphones in its fiscal year 2012-2013 than 34 million in previous year.

'Sony Xperia P receiving update to Ice Cream Sandwich'

sony has posted on its blog that one of its phones, the Sony Xperia P, will be getting an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The rollout for the update will happen over the next few weeks globally. Users will get a notification when the update is ready, but the availability might vary depending on the region. To get the update manually, users can go to their phone's “About” menu and select “Check for updates”.

Sony has listed some of the features users can look forward to after they receive the update:

• New ways to experience your media with new media applications – “WALKMAN”, “Album” and “Movies”
• Extended standby mode, increasing standby time by up to four times (depending on user-profile and data consumption)
• Lock screen with improved functionality
• Resizable widgets for improved personalisation
• Improved control of your mobile data consumption
• Recent Apps button for a clear overview of your applications

The Sony Xperia P is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and internal storage of 16GB. The camera is an 8MP shooter, instead of the 12MP on Xperia S. Still, this shouldn’t keep it from capturing good quality photographs.

 Sony had announced that the Xperia lineup from 2011 will not be eligible for the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. UK Product Manager for Sony Mobile, John Cooper was taking questions from customers on Facebook and revealed that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and Xperia Mini Pro will not be getting updates to Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean OS.

Sony was yet to make an official statement regarding its 2011 phone lineup and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update before this. The Arc S was the Xperia phone with the highest specs released in 2011. So if it isn’t getting the update, you can be sure that none of the other 2011 phones would be getting it. Sony is also yet to announce if the 2012 lineup of Xperia phones will be getting the update to Jelly Bean.

Sony had earlier announced that the 2011 lineup of Xperia phones would be receiving the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update. The rollout for the ICS update was set to take place in a phased manner over the course of several weeks and Sony had stated that all kits for a specific model would not receive the update at the same time.

'Sony xperia neo L' Full specification

       Affordable, entry level smartphone market is the segment where Sony Xperia neo L will be delivered. This is all well think but we need to say that this segment already offers significant number of devices so this might be a problem because of a strong competition.

With some nice features we need to say that this cell phone will be a good contender for some top spots on the market. This gadget is based on neo design and it brings second revision that features better screen, camera and Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS right out of the box.

As we said it brings nice screen, it is 4 inch large made in LED Backlit LCD technology and support of Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine. It offers WVGA resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and 16 million of colors so we can expect some really nice looking images on it. Camera is also of nice quality and you are getting 5 MP snapper that has a support of LED flash and abilities to create 3D Sweep Panorama and you can use it to create 720p video recordings in 30 fps. Front facing VGA camera is good for video calls over Skype and similar.

    Performances are provided from single Scorpion processor that is clocked at 1 GHz and is paired with 512 MB of RAM. This is a proven combination and Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset offers nice performances, for better results in graphics department there is Adreno 220 GPU.

Internal memory is of 1 GB but only 300 MB is available to the user. Most people will need more memory and it can be expanded with microSD card of up to 32 GB. One thing that we have notice is that the screen has a pretty poor angle view but it usually does not represent a problem.

Overall, for a really nice price you are getting an device with a decent features but have in mind that this is a entry level cell phone and not to expect anything revolutionary.
